Affectionately known as "the Gleener," the Ultimate Fuzz Remover was our first-ever product. To celebrate, we asked our expert staff for their favorite things about this wardrobe warrior. We hope you enjoy the read as much as we did writing it!
1. It "gleens" all the things
Gentle on fabrics and tough on fuzz, the Gleener Ultimate Fuzz Remover is for more than just sweaters. Three different Edges safely tackle fuzz on everything from chunky knits to cashmere, to delicate silk blends. Not only can you use it to revive your entire wardrobe but it's great for upholstery, towels, linens, and bedding. Own any hand knits? Yes, it's gentle enough for those, too!
2. It has a lint brush
You can never seem to find a lint brush when you need one--except if you own a Gleener 😄. The Ultimate Fuzz Remover's built-in lint brush dusts away lint, pet hair and dandruff. It can also be used to beautifully finish any de-pilling job.
3. Let's talk upholstery
Fabric pills (aka: pilling, lint balls and fuzz) are caused by friction... which is something your favorite sofas, cushions and armchairs see a lot of.
Lauren Hill, our good friend and the Divisional Merchandise Manager at The Container Store, says, "This is hand’s down one of the best products to own; all of our employees love it after training. It works on everything… I have even ‘gleened’ my mom’s entire sofa, giving it life for another couple of years!"
Do like Lauren and let Edge 2 be your go-to for restoring upholstery to its original suppleness. (But be sure to test on an inconspicuous area first to make sure it's the right Edge for your particular job.)
4. "The closest thing I have to a magic wand"
As Amanda from Minneapolis put it, “Maybe it’s because gleening off pills might just be one of the top twenty most rewarding things ever, but I’m pretty sure [The Ultimate Fuzz Remover is] the closest thing I have to a magic wand.”
The before and after photos and feedback that we receive from YOU--our customers--top the list of our favorite things about the product. From "magic wand" to "night in shining armour," we're thrilled that you're thrilled.
5. Can't. Stop. Gleening.
If you're like us or Amanda (read above), then you may have run into this problem. The soothing, repetitive motion of gleening, and the thrill of saving a favorite item can be slightly addictive 🙃. Our recommendation: pull out your ironing board (it's the best place to gleen), binge watch your preferred show and go to town on that pile of pilly stuff!
6. It's ergo, baby.
The Gleener Ultimate Fuzz Remover's curves aren't just for aesthetics. Its ergonomic handle with a soft over moulded grip makes de-fuzzing a cinch. The strategically placed Quick Release Button lets you easily swap Edges between projects.
7. Pet-fur magnet
In an office full of cat ladies and dog lovers, this was a biggie. The Ultimate Fuzz Remover's built-in lint brush is great at removing pet hair from clothes. Stash one by your front door or mudroom for last minute touch-ups as you leave the house.
8. The mother of invention
While Gleener officially turns 8, the idea for the Ultimate Fuzz Remover was born 16 years ago when Kim Cole's favorite maternity sweater became covered in pills. Determined to salvage it, she bought and tried countless products: a sweater stone, a battery-operated fabric shaver, a sweater comb. None were efficient, easy or effective, and the end result was a hole right through her sweater! That’s when Kim decided there had to be a better and safer solution... and that she would be the one to create it! The rest, as they say, is history. Happy birthday, Gleener!
Have your own Gleener story that you'd love to share? We're all ears (and eyes). Join the conversation below.
Concentration difficulties can be caused by medical, cognitive or psychological problems or may be related to sleep disorders or medications, alcohol or drugs. Psychological conditions that can interfere with concentration include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, emotional trauma, and stress.
Many eye exercises are touted as ways to naturally improve eyesight and overcome nearsightedness. The Bates Method suggests palming, movement and visualization techniques to reshape the eyeball and improve vision. Yan Bao Jian Cao suggests massage and acupressure as ways to relieve strain and eye problems. However, none of these exercises are verified to have more than anecdotal or placebo results. While vision therapy is a serious area of optometry that addresses problems with alignment, tracking and strain, there’s no sound evidence that vision exercises can affect clarity.
Protein is an essential part of a healthy diet, however having protein at all meal times, accelerates weight loss. It leaves you feeling full for longer and helps lower your total body fat. It also prevents the urge to tuck into something fattening or fried, if you eat in moderation, you would also be able to lose weight faster. Here are some suggestions of protein-rich swaps you can make to your daily diet.
